"This looks and tastes just like pecan pie, but it's made with oatmeal. My mom by marriage gave this recipe to me over 40 years ago. There's not a family get together without someone bringing one for our family dinners."

Original Recipe Yield 1 - 9 inch pie
 

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup margarine, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine corn syrup, sugar, eggs, melted margarine and vanilla. Mix in the oatmeal. Pour filling into pie shell.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
