Herman Dinner Rolls

"Yet another use for your Herman starter. For a variation try making a loaf of bread from your dough. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes."

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 1 cup Herman Sourdough Starter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large bowl combine yeast and warm water. Stir until yeast is dissolved. Add Herman Sweet Sourdough Starter, flour, salt, and oil. Mix well.
  2. Shape into 16 rolls. Place in a greased 8x8 inch pan. Let stand for 30 to 40 minutes.
  3. Bake in a 350 degree F (175 degree C) oven for 20 minutes, or until brown.

I was looking for an easy yet tasty sourdough dinner roll, and happened upon this recipe. My family wants them all the time now! They are tender and simply delicious!

I loved these rolls! I used a little extra flour, and they were still light and flavorful. Will definately use again.
