Great simple recipe. This is perfect for people who grow their own herbs. They add just enough flavor to kick up a basic oil and vinegar dressing. I added salt and pepper and I think I will add a clove of garlic next time, but good flavor overall.

Delicious! I used the recipe as a guide for my own tastes instead of following the recipe exactly. I didn't have any of the vinegars mentioned on hand so I used 3-4 tbsps of lemon juice to add a bit of tang. I scaled the recipe to 4 people. It didn't need quite as much sugar as the recipe called for, so I lessened the amount by half. The taste of the fresh basil and thyme was wonderful! I also added garlic (2 cloves) and some parmesan, fresh oregano from my garden and salt and pepper to taste. Try it, and just suit it to your tastes. I like strong flavors in my food and I don't like the flavor of veggies by themselves so this really worked for me and was not over-powering. Plus, it's so easy to shake all this together in a jar!
