These are the best mashed potatoes I have ever eaten! They even impressed my mother in law, who is the best cook I know. The leftovers also made a wonderful Shepherd's Pie.

My fiancé and I liked this recipe. I used dried herbs, fat free sour cream and milk, and doubled the garlic. Some reviewers of this recipe felt that it had too little taste while some found the taste to be overpowering. Even with dried herbs, this recipe has taste, albeit somewhat of a unique taste. I don’t know if I’d spend the money on fresh herbs for this one though, especially since dried herbs seemed to work fine. It was a nice change from regular mashed potatoes. Thanks!

We loved this recipe! I didn't change a thing except that I forgot to put the garlic in to cook with the potatoes, so I just added it before mashing. The garlic flavor was mild, but these potatoes are not called "garlic mashed potatoes." The main flavor should be the herbs. I like to make a flavored mashed potatoes like these if I'm not serving gravy, because traditional mashed potatoes tend to just taste like potatoes. For the people who thought they were bland, maybe try adding extra butter. I didn't, and loved the flavor of the herbs. But, usually more than one tablespoon of butter is added to mashed potatoes, and that may be the flavor you're missing.

These came out great! I had to modify it for a dairy free diet so I used sour supreme non-dairy sour cream, 1/2c of cooking water instead of the milk, and earth balance non-dairy buttery spread. I also only used 1/2t salt...came out GREAT!

I made a few changes to make them more to my liking. I added about an extra 2 table spoons of milk to make them more creamy. I also added a couple of shakes of dried dill in place of the parsley. Dill + sour cream go great together.

I thought they were OK, like others have said you couldn't really taste the garlic and I almost doubled what the recipe asked for.

I agree with a previous response. It was way too many herbs. My husband said I could not make this anymore. And no one ate it really.

This was a big hit with my family. I loved the blend of the herbs with the creaminess of the potatoes. I also used dried herbs instead of fresh - about 1 Tbsp parsley, 1 Tsp oregano, and 1 tsp thyme. Will definitely make this again!

This recipe was really easy and delicious. I paired it with the Garlic Chicken on this site, and it was the perfect combo. I would add more garlic, though.

What a hit these potatoes were! I used half the milk and sour cream called for - and the texture was just as we like mashed potatoes. I used extra garlic (from past experience; since garlic gets milder and sweeter as it cooks, if anyone wants a real garlicky flavour, best to add fresh garlic as you mash the potatoes, or add garlic powder). The herbs which I chopped and rubbed between my fingers to bring out the flavour before adding) made these very special. Delicious!

These were very good. Next time I will add a few more cloves of garlic because I couldn't really taste it in the potatoes.

I made these mashed potatoes with high hopes; however, they were actually a bit bland which is surprising with the addition of all of those fresh (and very expensive!) fresh herbs. The presentation was pretty, but threw my kids off at first because they were not the "normal" looking mashed potatoes - they did eat them once tasted, though!

this is delicious - i did however, use dried herbs and garlic - i used 1 tsp garlic and mixed it in with the other herbs - i used 1 tsp parsley, 1 tsp oregano, about 1/4 tsp thyme, about 1 tbsp margarine - and the rest i left the same - oh i sized it to 4 servings btw... and it is so yummy - i'm taking the leftovers for lunch tomorrow - i'm so lucky to have leftovers - yay - i get to eat it again... i also liked that this recipe did not contain cheese b/c i have a picky-eater husband who despises cheese... thanks Stephanie for this great and easy recipe!
