To be honest, I didn't have very high expectations for this recipe. It did come out better than expected, and was a nice mid-week family meal. I left out the soy sauce, as I'm on a non-soy diet, and the results were still positive. :)

I love that you can mix whatever you have in the fridge with this meal!! I also use Worcestershire sauce to brown the meat and add more flavour! It's always delicious and so easy to make!! Thanks! One of our favourites!

This is great "everyday" family recipe with ingredients that are always in the cupboard and is fairly quick to prepare.

My family liked this recipe. My husband compared it to Hamburger Helper. It's not a culinary masterpiece but it's a good weeknight family dinner. It was quick and easy to prepare and the ingredients are basic things that most people have on hand. I did alter the recipe slightly. I used beef broth in place of water. I also added a cup of rice and used 3 cups of broth.

This was really easy and my whole family really loved it! The only changes I made were to add about 3 cups of water and 3 cubes of beef boullion. It gave the potatoes and rice some flavor and the whole dish thickened up nicely. Will definitely make again!

Agreed, this is an excellent easy-to-make dinner. I did modify it a bit - used brown rice and doubled the amount, added a can of beef broth, fresh mushrooms and some kidney beans. Didn't have any carrots, so added a can of corn instead. My husband really enjoyed it, and leftovers can be changed up with some salsa on top or a little worcestshire sauce.

This recipe has all my favorite components - quick, easy, and very, very surprisingly tasty! We really enjoyed it! (I did not use as much salt as the recipe called for)

I made this for dinner last night, it was simple and tasty. I used ground turkey, because my husband doesn't like beef, and I seasoned it with garlic powder, salt and pepper. I added celery to it, I figure the more veggies, the better. I would have liked the potatoes to have some extra flavor, but other than that the dinner was good. I would make this again.

My sister gave me this recipe and my family loves it!! I change it up every time I make it. Sometimes I substitute the potatoes and add more carrots, lots of celery and mushrooms. You could make it with whatever you have on hand!! YUMMY!!!

My grandmother used to make this for my family when we visited. It has take me awhile to find the recipe but I am so glad I have since it is one of my favorites. But she did it with a few variations, she added a can of mushroom soup to it and omitted the garlic and soy sauce. She then baked it at 375 for 20 minutes.

Nobody in my house cares for rice, so I switched it for 2 servings and made it for myself. It was quick, easy and delicious.
