I wish I hadn't halved the recipe, but I only had 1 can of beans! While I prefer cooking fresh beans, this was a great alternative that saved me lots of time. Great choice for those who want red beans but can't spend the time to make them fresh.

This was great. Of course, I spiced it up to our liking. I added in cajun season, bay season, some bay leaves, and some cumin. I also used two cans of ranch style beans that I rinsed well.

Pretty good. I think next time I'll throw some other seasonings in. It was just lacking a bit if kick.

I really enjoyed this recipe -- thanks for sharing it. The only thing I did differently was use 1/2 a green pepper and rown rice instead of white. I was looking for a true southern recipe for Red beans and rice. Although the hunt is still on for that -- I have a great substitute! Thanks again!

I was cooking for one, so I played fast and loose with the proportions on this. I also used chopped ham instead of sausage. It made an attractive and flavorful dish- the dark red kidney beans contrasted well with the pink ham and green celery.
