Directions

  1. In a Dutch oven, over medium heat, cook and stir the ground beef, onion, pepper, and garlic until beef is no longer pink and the vegetables are crisp tender (8 to 9 minutes). Add the chili powder, cumin and pepper to the Dutch oven. Continue cooking for 1 minute. Add the kidney beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and water to the Dutch oven. Cook and stir until the chili comes to a boil (5 to 6 minutes). Reduce the heat to medium low. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve individual bowls of chili with a dollop of Daisy Sour Cream. Garnish with shredded cheese, avocado slices, and a few dashes of hot pepper sauce if desired.

This recipe has alot of potential - however it does need some adjustments! A cup of water is too much - it came out too watery. So, I would recommend only using 1/2-3/4 of a cup. Also, its kind of bland. Next time I am definitely going to add some more spices to give it a little kick (more chili powder, maybe some cayenne pepper) and also more garlic! Probably double or triple the amount listed here. I think its a great start though!

You can even use ground turkey meat instead of beef. I've done it that way and I'm telling you, if the flavor is there, you can't even tell the difference! Good stuff!

Delicious! This chili was so fun to cook. It was colorful and very good. My picky three year old didn't really touch it, but like I said, she's picky. This will definitely be made in our house again.

Very good. I didn't have a 15 oz. can of tomato sauce. So I used 8 oz. hot tomato sauce and. 8 oz. can of regular. It was plenty spicy.
