I used reduced fat mayonnaise and dijon mustard. I did increase the amounts of everything, even the spread (my husband and two kids like sandwiches with a lot of everything) and I used the bread I had on hand--whole wheat. Great packed-lunch sandwich.

Sometimes simple and easy is so delicious! Loved added tang of the horseradish. Thanks!

This is really an excellent spread for these sandwiches provided you tinker with the measurements to suit your own taste - the consensus among us (Mom included) was that this was best when the mayonnaise was somewhat increased while the horseradish was somewhat decreased. The onion was a nice addition that certainly was not overbearing as I thought it might be. I wanted warm sandwiches, so after spreading the mayo/mustard/horseradish mixture on just one side of the bread I grilled them, just as you would grilled cheese sandwiches. I used a good sourdough bread, baby Swiss and baked ham. The spread is what really makes this a stand out sandwich. I served them with "Cream of Mushroom Soup I" and "Tricolore Salad of Endive, Beet, and Arugula, Pantzaria Salata," for a complete meal. And an excellent meal it was!

I used a french loaf cut in half spread the mayo mixture on each half covered it with sliced onions, swiss cheese and ham. The put the open face sandwich in the oven and cooked til the cheese melted and the bread was toasted. Very good and easy!!

Other than toasting the bread, followed exactly. Hubby, oldest daughter, & I liked them but my boys did not. The horseradish is strong!

Very good - great for a quick meal! I didn't feel like cooking last night and it was pouring rain therefore grilling wasn't an option so it was a good night for soup and sandwiches. These were really easy and tasted great. The only thing I did different was to spread butter on the outside of the bread, assemble the sandwich and grill it. I served it with tomato soup, chips, and a dill pickle on the side.

This was nothing spectacular. The dressing is a good change but not 5 star worthy.

I just made this for the pastors of our church and they loved it! The mayo/mustard spread made it so nice.

Really good. I used "whitewheat" bread (only kind I had) and deli brown sugar ham. I served these with Campbell's Tomato Bisque soup and it was an excellent quick dinner. Thanks, Rena!
