These were just alright. The flavor was fine but the texture was chewy and dense. One of my kids liked them a lot, but I think Ill stick w/ the butternut squash fries recipe from this site instead of these.

I thought these were really yummy! I changed the way they were assembled a little to make more sense to me, though. I put the warm water and yeast along with 1 tablespoon of the sugar in my kitchenaid mixer bowl and let it rest for a few minutes before adding the salt, remaining sugar (which I reduced to 3/4 c. and that was plenty sweet)and butter. I used butternut squash that had just been baked and slowly added the warmed milk to the warm smashed squash a little at a time before adding it to the yeast mixture. I then added a few cups of the flour and beat it in the mixer til it was mixed well. Then used the bread hook to add the rest of the flour and knead it. If you don't add too much flour, these are excellent! Very light, great color and flavor! I made and extra half recipe (1 1/2 times) and it made 24 rolls and 1 nice loaf of bread!
