I have been making hamburger steak for years, and its good, but I did not know how bland mine was until I tried this recipe. OMG, this is so delicious!! I was kind of afraid to use sherry, never had used it before..but the worse thing is never make it again. I also have very picky kids. They all said it was a definite keeper. I tripled the gravy like others said. The gravy is so awesome, and my patties are always a bit dry and tough, these patties are melt in your mouth moist. Thank you for the awesome recipe, and for opening my eyes to sherry..

Made recipe exactly the way it was given. Turned out very yummy, and my husband said he would like to add it to our menu. Next time I will make more gravy/onions..... I served it with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. Comfort food all the way!

Very easy and delicious. Next time I will make more gravy. I substituted white wine for the sherry because I didn't have it and for 1 Tblsp I thought I could either add water or swap it out. I didn't notice any difference.

I thought this was pretty good and will put it in a bi-monthly rotation. The only change I'll make is increasing the seasoned salt to 1 teaspoon in the hamburger mix as it was a little bland.

I've made this several times. It is awfully greasy if you don't drain some of the grease. Otherwise, no complaints.

The whole crew gave three cheers for this recipe. I did make one mistake. Because I made a large amount, I cooked the burgers first, then the onions. The onions loosened up all the yummy stuff that was to have gone into the gravy. So if you need to do the onions separate, cook the onions first then the burgers. Then you'll have all the bits for your gravy.

Good comfort food! I had to substitute red wine for the sherry, as I didn't have any on hand. My husband thought it was just okay, but I liked it. Gravy would taste great on mashed potatoes or egg noodles. Next time, I'll add mushrooms. For all those that add nasty canned soups to the sauce - leave it alone! I couldn't believe how many reviews I read said they added some soup to it for thickening. Double the broth/sherry/onion mixture if you need extra sauce, and if you must, mix cornstarch with cold broth before adding to the pan, but don't use canned soups!!! The gravy is perfect on it's own!
