Made this dish on a whim and I am so glad I did. I omitted the sherry, added fresh sage to the meat mixture and doubled the broth. It was fantastic. Served with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. My husband and 7 year old were very happy.

This was a HUGE hit in my house. The guys never had anything like this and we're sure what it was but LOVED it. I followed the recipe, but subed 1 tsp vanilla for the sherry. I also doubled the flour and broth to make more gravy. YUM!

My husband and kids loved it! I added a few more spices then the recipe called for. I thought the gravy was a bit boring so I tossed in a can of brown gravy a the end to save it.

I really loved this recipe. Instead of sprinkling flour to make gravy with the drippings, I add potatoe buds for a different spin on mashed pototes. So I guess I like made mashed potoes with the gravy already mixed in. LOL!

I would give it a 5 for the idea alone but I changed quite a few things so I honestly don't know what it would have tasted like as written. I added minced fresh onion, garlic, and rosemary to the meat instead of the dried herbs and used regular salt instead of seasoned salt. I also added mushrooms and fresh garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the gravy and doubled the amount of broth, sherry, and flour. I took another reader's advice and dredged the meat in flour before browning alone. I sauteed the mushrooms and onions after taking the browned meat out of the pan. Great idea! I'll be making my adjusted version again I'm sure. My boyfriend will insist! :)

More like a 3 1/2 as written for me. If you just love the taste of meat (like my hubby) you will probably like this as is. It just had a very basic meat taste to me and I like my stuff with more flavor so the second time I made this I added to the patties: 1/4 onion minced, 1 or 2 tablespoons A1 bold and spicy sauce, maybe 1/3 packet mushroom and onion gravy packet and salt and pepper to taste. I always cook a little tiny bit before cooking them all to make sure seasonings are perfect. I doubled the gravy and added about another 1/3 package of the onion and mushroom gravy packet once my gravy had thickened up and before I put the patties back in. I also added a bit garlic powder to the gravy. 5 stars and even my husband said it was delicious. Served over Mashed Potatoes.

I thought these were yummy and easy. I doubled the gravy as others did, which is perfect. After adding the meat back to the gravy I wouldn't recommend letting it go another 15 minutes that made the gravy too thick. Served with red potatoes. Good Stuff :)

As is, this recipe was simple and satisfying, but could benefit from a few changes, i.e. fresh herbs, onion soup, a little more gravy. Still, for a quick and easy weeknight meal that will appeal to kids and adults alike, this one is a winner.

I would give this five, but it is a little salty. Next time I make this I won't put the season salt in the gravy. We all liked the flavor. Hubby ate the rest of my daughter's and mine. I didn't use the Sherry, didn't have any and didn't want to buy it for just one recipe. Thanks for a keeper.

I didn't have beef broth so I used a packet of Lipton "beefy onion" soup mix and mixed it with about a cup of water. I followed some of the other reviewer's suggestions and dipped the burgers in a flour, salt, and pepper mixture before browning them. I also added a can of mushrooms to my gravy, just because I really like the added flavor. Used leftovers on toast the next day and it was fantastic! Love the recipes that can carry over into the next day if you make too much! Thanks!

Excellent! I am not the greatest cook, and I tend to mess up even the simplest recipes. But this one turned out great. I was out of sherry, and as another reviewer suggested, I added a little vanilla. I was worried about it, but it turned out lovely. Even my VERY picky husband enjoyed it. This one is going in my recipe box. Thank you!
