I had to add a little time for the potatoes to be cooked all the way i think I cut them too thick but it tasted soooo good

Tasty. This casserole can be tweaked every which way depending on what you like or have on hand. Different kinds of potato, different cheeses, and any veggie.Add whatever seasoning you wish as it does need more seasoning. Good starter recipe.

I thought this was a great recipe that you can do many things with. I subsituted cream of chicken for the mushroom since my family does care for them. I did add minced garlic to the hamburger and a few other spices to the soup mix. I added a layer of frozen greenbeans. I did follow a few other reviewers tips and microwaved the sliced potatoes to save cooking time and covered until the last 10 minutes of baking. I will be making this again; it's a low cost meal that my family enjoyed!

I usually read the reviews before I try a new recipe, but, I was in a hurry to find something quick to make. It is an easy recipe to make, but, it was definitely bland. I didn't really give it much thought until we started eating it! If I made this again I would add lots of garlic and maybe steak sauce in with the meat.

It is not even out of the oven but I tasted it and my goodness this is great. I believe that this will be a family favorite. The only thing I changed was I added cubes of velvetta to it because I love things cheesy and it was a good addition to this recipe but I kept the rest the same. Thank you so much for this recipe I will make often!

My kids and hubby ate it up... Here's the kicker ~ we never eat our leftovers, but this time both of them ate it the next day for lunch. This is a keeper...

The dish cooked perfectly! But unfortunately I used taco seasoning based on all the reviews saying it was better that way. Not true! I feel the taco seasoning ruined it. Next time I make it I will leave it out. I did change a few other things. I cooked the onion (a quarter of one, the listed amount of onion is outrageous!) with the ground beef. Then mixed in some garlic powder, basil, and paprika with the cream of mushroom & milk so that the sauce itself had a lil bit more flavor. It said to layer the ingredients, so I put the beef on the bottom, then the potatoes spread out evenly trying to to over lap each other(that I sliced really thin) then poured the sauce on top. Cooked uncovered for 1 hour and 20 mins... then put the shredded cheese on top and cooked until it melted. Cant wait to see how it turns out next time w/o the taco seasoning!

Very good - a great casserole to take to a potluck dinner. I added some red pepper flakes, garlic powder, parsley and some frozen mixed veggies. Other than that, I didn't change a thing. It was tasty & one could really play around with this recipe, adding leftover veggies, etc.

With the recipe as is, it needed a bit more flavor. Next time I'll add some spices to liven it up

This was good and my husband and I both enjoyed it. Nice and warm for a cool fall day. I did not have cream of mushroom so I used cream of chicken (which I was very hesitant of) it still turned out great.

I made this for my husband to take hunting with him and he forgot it in the fridge so I had it for lunch the next day. I have to say I was impressed! It tasted good and was filling; I'm glad we now have a bunch in the freezer! I added some frozen peas and carrots, used cream of mushroom soup (w/roasted garlic) added mushrooms and a big scoop of sour cream. I ended up cooking for about 2 hours so the potatoes were done, could have been the dish I used to cook in. Will definitelyl make again with lots of veggies.

My family and I enjoyed this very much. I found this recipe when I was looking for a main course using the ingredients I had on hand--a pound of precooked ground beef and a bag of frozen hash browns. All I had to do was shred the cheese!

This is so good. I double the recipe because otherwise it just doesn't go very far. And I like to get creative and add different veggies to the meat, ( it gets theme into my kids easier that way) I also mix a little hot pepper sauce to the meat.

Husband & son really enjoyed this recipe. I wasn't a big fan though. I have to vote with other people about it being a little bland. Also, I had to cook it for almost 2hrs. before potatos were completely done.

This was pretty good. The kids loved it. I like it because its simple and I had everything for it already in the kitchen. Could have used more seasoning on the meat. I think next time I will add taco seasoning or something like that!
