I followed this recipe exactly and it ended up tasting like something out of a box. It was good, both my husband and daughter enjoyed it but the recipe could definitely be tweaked a bit. Next time I'm going to add some spices and mushrooms to try to get a more complex taste.

Yummy! I made additions though. I cooked the ground beef in sweedish meatball seasoning. I used cream of mushroom with garlic, added sour cream to the mix. Next time I will layer cheese in with other layers. As long as you slice the potatoes thin you should only need about an hour in the oven covered.

Very yummy and easy meal to make. I took some of the other reviewer's advice to add some extra spices for extra flavor. Will definitely make it again.

This a very good and easy casserole. It beats the "boxed" hamburger casseroles by a long stretch. I have always made scalloped potatoes with onion/milk/mushroom soup but had never tried adding ground beef until I found this recipe. It's a keeper! For those who find the potatoes are not cooked through, cover the casserole for the first 45 minutes of baking.

I am making this for the second time tonight and I have to say that it is really good. I did change a couple of things. I cooked the meat and onion together and added a little more seasoning (season all, garlic salt). I also used cream of potato soup because my husband dislikes mushrooms. Because of the bland taste of the potato soup, I did add more seasoning than salt and pepper (garlic, garlic pepper, season all). They both seem like minor changes to me and I really like this dish. It is very much "Meat and Potatoes!"

This came out pretty good, but I made one change and if I make it again I will defnintely make another change. I am not a huge fan of cream of mushroom soup so I used cheese and broccoli soup instead which tasted good, and I would definitely add more meat next time and maybe some more vegetables. But overall it was tasty :)

Browned hamburger with garlic and seasoned salt. Added a package of frozen potatoes o'brien. Cook till potatoes are done and added cream of mushroom soup and 1 can of milk. Top off with mexican or taco cheese. Quick and easy meal.

This is wonderful! I changed the recipe a bit by using Simply Potatoes Homestyle Slices & cooking the onion with the ground beef. I lowered the cook time to 40 minutes before putting the cheese on top to be melted. It was quicker & less mess. Yum!!!

I baked according to the directions and the oninons in it were still alittle crunchy and over powering. Otherwise the recipe was bland. It could be good if altered.

Easy, quick, tasty, and filling meal. The only thing extra I did was to layer velvetta and add some garlic powered to the ground beef. This is something I will make again.

easy, quick prep. dinner with basics you usually have on hand. substituted the cr of mushroom w/ what I had, which was cream of celery. did add basil and 3 cloves of garlic, 4 potatos instead of 3, and a can of mushrooms. i think it still needs a bit more seasoning, but it was a hit w/ my kids and hubby. hubby didn't think it needed anything else. will make again.

I done gone an cajunized da recipe. I added garlic, bell pepper, and celery. I substituted fat free half and half for the milk and salt free cajun seasoning for salt and pepper. After browning the meat I mixed it with the mixture and let it marinate. Other than that I followed the recipe. It was delicious and will make again.

Loved this easy recipe! My husband requests this a couple of times a month. I make this exactly as written but I do add a can of sliced mushrooms in with the soup. Thanks for the quick meal idea.

It was alright. If I make it again, I won't layer it, I'll mix it all together. Maybe through in some sour cream and garlic or something. It was very bland to us. We used a lot of salt to "taste" it.

I think this is a really good base recipe. I read the reviews before making this and made some of my own changes as well. I added the onion to my ground beef as it was browning, and also added seasoning salt to the beef while cooking. I used cream of celery soup, added the milk and salt and pepper and miked well. I was going to be out of the house for a while so I cooked this in my crockpot. I first layered half of the potatoes on the bottom, added 1/2 of the soup mixture, then added the beef and onion mixture, poured a can of drained corn on the meat then layered the rest of the potatoes and topped it off with the rest of the soup. I cooked this for 2 hours on low, then kicked it up to high for another hour. Added the shredded cheese on top and it was wonderful! Thanks for the recipe!
