This is one of those days when the pantry is bare and I'm scrambling for something to fix for dinner. This recipe did the job. I added a huge mound of chili powder to give it a little kick. Topped with shredded cheese and with cornbread on the side, it made a nice, hearty, last-minute meal. The kids liked it so much I might even be making it in the future despite having a better-stocked pantry! To make four servings I used one pound of ground meat and 2 cans of tomato sauce (no juice). I figured one small fist-full of macaroni was about equal to a 1/4 of a cup so I threw in 4 fist-fulls of pasta and it cooked up nice and thick.

I added tomato sauce instead of tomato juice and velveeta and it was great!! Quick and easy!! I was afraid the pasta would not cook but it did. Oh, I also added sliced mushrooms. The possiblities are endless with this dish.

I made this last night for dinner and it was delicious. I used ground turkey instead of ground beef and used pasta sauce instead of tomato juice. I'll definately be making this again.

Quite good - I made as directed, except that I substituted onion powder and garlic powder, since I didn't have the veggies on hand. And I used high fiber pasta, which no one even noticed! Very easy to make - a good 'comfort' food. Thank you!

This was a good recipe! I found it a little hard and costly to keep buying tomato juice vs. paste/sauce. My boyfriend loved it the first time. Although, I preferred cooking the macaroni separately (which does diminish taste and sauce thickening).

I upped the servings to 4 using the auto convert feature here. I found it bland. Like another reviewer, I added chile powder, about a tablespoon. I also added ground cumin, about a teaspoon, and it really helped. Topped it with cheese, so it's kind of like chili with macaroni at this point. My wife and F-I-L liked it.

This was pretty good. Next time I will figure a way to add more macaroni. I used a can of diced chili's instead of green peppers. Its prettt good that way.

My family loves this, it is quick and easy. I didn't have enough tomatoe juice, so i substatuded a can of beef broth to make up the difference. It turned out great.

wow, this is excellent! my husband normally doesn't like tomato based meals..but he had seconds with this. Followed exactly except for using ground turkey (healthier, couldn't even taste the difference),tomato sauce, and only half a tsp of salt. Yum!!

Excellent meal. I added a bit of chili powder to kick it up, it complemented the Worchestire sauce's flavor.

This recipe works very well for my wife and me. It was quite tasty, and when my wife goes back for seconds I know I got it right. There were no left overs.
