Sometimes hubs gets hungry for what he calls "goulash" (he grew up in the 40's-50's=hamburger/macaroni) I found this and thought it sounded pretty good. I added some chopped celery and minced jalapeno. Also onion and garlic powder, and chili powder. We doubled the recipe as I had a full lb of ground beef. Sprinkled grated cheddar over top and put in oven for about 5 min. to melt and brown a little. Very homey, comforting dish!

Family asked for "Hamburger Helper" for dinner but I don't keep packaged meals on hand. I made this instead. I doubled everything. I used red pepper instead of green and tomato sauce instead of tomato juice. I threw in a heaping teaspoon or so of homemade italian seasoning. I served this with parmesan cheese on top and garlic bread on the side. NO leftovers, they ate it all. Great Hamburger Helper spinoff recipe. I'd make this again, maybe throw in more vegetables.

Easy beefaroni recipe. This was easy to put together, pretty fast too, and was all finished in about half an hour. Great timing for a hot weeknight meal. I used a can of tomato soup and some water instead of tomato juice and doubled the recipe since I was using a pound of ground beef. I subbed 1/4 tsp onion powder for fresh onion and used garlic powder. I couldn't taste the worcestershire sauce at all. I would probably double that next time to add more flavor. Not bad for a fast easy hot supper in only thirty minutes. Thanks Barbara.

This makes just enough for two adults and have a little left over. I substituted tomato sauce for the tomato juice for a little thicker consistency which meant that I had to continue to add water as it boiled down but definitely worth it! Also, I added a bit of basil pesto for some added flavor and used canned minced garlic instead of fresh.

Love this!! Was looking for a recipe I cook make fairly quickly and this was fantastic! Im not usually one who changes anyone's recipes, but I just didnt have the tomato juice on hand. I added a small can of tomato sauce and a can of diced tomatoes and it was so delicious. I also loved that it was a perfect amount for me, hubby and my two year old, no leftovers to pack up..Im definitely keeping this one for busy nights!!

A tastier version of the usual hamburger mac. I added the suggested cumin and also preseasoned the meat with garlic and onion powder, as well as some adobo. Used a can, plus one of water, of tomato soup as I had neither sauce or juice. Raised the servings to 4 and added about 1.5 cups of macaroni. So yummy, that the family ate it for lunch instead of the intended dinner. Will serve with shredded cheese and cornbread next time.

I upped the quantity of this to 6, I added some onion powder, and two tablespoons of beef base and just a touch of sugar. It is a really nice recipe, will make it again! Thanks

I really had to jazz this up to make it 4 stars. I added way more worstishier sauce, a can of chopped tomatoes along with the sauce. I also added hot sauce, chili powder and cumin like others suggested. I then added a nice handful of sharp cheddar to each bowl upon serving. After this, it tasted good. But before adding all the extras, it was bland to me.

This was really easy to make, and pretty delicious. As were others, I was looking for something close to Hamburger Helper, which this is not. But it is a lot more healthy and quite tasty. I also made the recommended additions of cumin, as well as substituting tomato sauce for juice. I also added 1/2 cup of sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese to make it closer to the cheese-mac that we love. Thanks for the sharing, this is something that my wife has requested we repeat, so kudos for the recipe.
