Ham with Pineapple Sauce
SUBMITTED BY:
Debra Falkiner
"My mom always finds ways to make good foods taste even more special. A great example is this ham served with a sweet pineapple sauce. A simple mixture of basic ingredients results in a mouth-watering main dish. -Debra Falkiner, St. Charles, Missouri"

DIRECTIONS
Place ham on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for 1-1/4 to 2 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 140 degrees F and ham is heated through.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine 1/4 cup water, brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, mustard and pineapple. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Combine cornstarch and remaining water until smooth; stir into pineapple sauce. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with the ham.

I was in a hurry and misread the directions - I actually used tablespoons instead of teaspoons for the ketchup and soy sauce. Once I realized it, I decided to keep going to see what happened and it was really good! Any recipe that I can screw up that badly and still have rave reviews is a 5-star in my book. I also did half soy sauce, half worc. sauce since I'm not the biggest soy sauce fan. Thanks for a great recipe!

Yum, I used this recipe for Easter, the sacue was awesome, my boyfriend loved it! I will probably be making it every year now. The only thing different is I used yellow mustard instead of ground because I didn't have any. Thanks!

Not bad, I guess. It was sweet and I guess I would have like a bit more tanginess...I didn't use as a dipping sauce but rather spread it on ham before baking...guess I should have waited until last 30mins or so as it stuck to the bottom on the pan...

I made this sauce for my Thanksgiving ham, and it was great. I also added a few slices of pineapple round slices to the top for presentation.
