Wonderful sauce. I did not make the ham, just the cherry sauce. Took the advice of the previous reviewer, who remarked that the sauce was very thick. Used only 1 tbsp cornstarch instead of the 3 tbsp specified in the recipe. Otherwise used the recipe without changes.

I used tart cherries for this - my husband loved it. I actually think I will use this recipe to make the filling the next time I make cherry pie. The sauce is quite sweet, but I think that goes well with ham. The recipe doesn't state if the can of cherries should be drained or not. I used the juice from the can and only had to add a little water to make 1 cup of liquid. This make a very thick sauce, similar to pie filling (hence my note above).
