We loved this - great use of leftovers! Doubled the recipe to make this a main dish for my family of five. Didn't have the whipping cream, so used 1/2 cup half and half and 1/2 cup skim milk. Liquid didn't blend with the cheese well, so I would recommend pouring liquid over top after adding the cheese.

This is the best Christmas dinner left over receipe I have tried. My family loved it and was so easy to make!! I did add more ham (what was left over) and basically stuck to the receipe besides adding a little onion powder. I will, for sure, be making this again for Easter dinner left overs.

This was a great way to use up leftover ham and potatoes. My kids who didn't like the potatoes yesterday (I used red potatoes and they didn't like the skins in them) gobbled this up today. I think the whipped cream trick is fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

This was AWESOME! I made a lot of mashed potatoes, mixed it with minced garlic and used diced ham on top. I didn't use the whipping cream either - I used sour cream mixed with the shredded cheese and a little bit of milk. It was really really good! EVERYONE enjoyed this : ) I will be making this again for sure! Next time I'm going to try adding a layer of broccoli between the potatoes and ham.

My family RAVED about this. didn't have heavy cream so used half-half. Mixed in a layer of broccoli between ham and cheese. Also premixed it up a few hours before cooking and just kept in fridge.

This is a very good and easy recipe. I made the majority of the recipe as directed, with the exception that I used 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup cream cheese in place of the whipping cream. Also, sprinkled the top of casserole with crushed french fried onions safter baking 15 minute and baked an additional 5 minutes.
