This was really good! The only changes I made were to slice the potatoes and fry them in a little bit of oil until they were browned and almost cooked through, I left out the celery and I added some shredded cheddar cheese. It's a keeper!

The only thing I changed as many other did, was not precook the potatoes, but rather bake all at 350 deg. for 1 hr. 15 min. in 9x13 pan. I used a salad shooter to slice potatoes and I only ended up using approx. 3 lbs. of potatoes (not 5 lb.) Does not need salt due to the ham. This recipe had great flavor. I would def. make again.

I made this exactly as the recipe stated except I didn't partially cook the potatoes. I just increased the oven temp and baked them longer as suggested in an earlier review. Scrumptious :) It even got rave reviews from a tough critic...my mom! This was her birthday dinner and she loved it.

YUM! I made this dish for a friend who had a baby.. great comfort food dish, and I kept a dish of it for my own family for dinner. I used the suggestion of milk instead of broth since I didn't have any, and it made the creamiest, cheesy sauce. Great flavor!

These potatoes are delicious! I skipped the mayo and American cheese and instead added leftover alfredo sauce that was in the fridge and motzarella cheese to create a "white" version of scalloped potatoes and ham. Turned out really yummy!

Easy and tasty. I didn't have cheese spread so I just added several slices of american cheese. Can't go wrong...very basic.

This was easy and very good! I added 1/4 tsp of Tony Chachere's.I was out of mayo - didn't substitute anything. Also, I just threw it all together in one dish - melted butter, added flour, stirred in cold cheeze whiz & other ingredients and cooked at 425(I was in a hurry!) for 20 min., added potatoes, cooked for 10 more minutes & served.

Very nice, added some chopped red pepper for color and extra flavor. My sauce consisted of smart balance spread, ww flour, ff creamer, milk, and shredded cheddar cheese. Also did not peel the potatoes but sliced thin, rinsed and added raw. Cooked whole cassarole @ 350 F for one hour. Delicious!

This was good...I made some changes though. I didn't boil the potatoes first, just cooked for about an hour and a half at 325. I also used milk instead of chicken broth. Added cheddar cheese to the milk mixture to make more of a cheese sauce. Mixed potatoes and cheese sauce/ham in a big metal bowl first, then transferred to a baking dish, otherwise it's way too hard to mix everything together. I added some chopped scallions to the top when it came out of the oven. Served peas on the side however they would have been really good mixed in to the casserole. Great recipe for a cold rainy night.

I agree with the others about the potatoes, boiling and then slicing them was definitely a hassle. Also it was no good the next day, it was really dry.

I really liked these but I didn't precook athe potaoes and ended up baking the dish at 350 for about 1 1/2 hours for it to be done. I also used sour cream instead of mayo and real cheese instead of processed. My family didn't like it very much but sometimes there's just no pleasing them! Yum!

I was out of mayonnaise so substituted a dollop of sour cream; also didn't precook the potatoes, and this still turned out beautifully! A super recipe which the whole family enjoyed...Thank You!
