Made a few changes to make a little healthier. I used whole wheat pasta, skim milk and cut back on the butter. Used the whole amount of cheese and threw in some cayenne, nutmeg and mustard powder (instead of mustard). Turned out great!

3.5 stars here. It was def edible but very blah. If I were to make this again, I'd use a different cheese. Not a big hit w/the kiddos, only 1 of them would eat the leftovers so quite a bit got thrown away:(

My kids loved it but I thought it to be a bit bland and a bit greasy even though i used cheddar. with some tweaking, it definately has some possiblities. There are a lot better cheese pasta recipes out there.

This was very tasty. I am a cheese lover, but the sauce was so thick it was almost pasty. The cheese can be cut down, the butter and flour can be cut down and the calories and fat are entirely too high. But if you want some good, thick comfort food and don't have to watch your calories, this is a good dish.

My family loved this. I omited the mustard, added onions and used a mix of colby and mozz. cheese. I also topped with french fried onions. Good quick and easy casserole.

I was disappointed with the results considering the pretty good reviews. The garlic taste was somewhat distracting. There was too much sauce for the amount of pasta (I used 12 oz but could have used at least 16 oz). Not bad, but definitely nothing special.

I made this almost exactly as written. I had a 12 oz box of bowtie pasta so I used it all. And I threw in cheddar, mozzarella and colby cheese - tried to use the same amount as the recipe called for but split it into the 3 types of cheese. Also, thought it needed a veggie so put in some sweet peas. My husband and I loved it - the kids didn't like it too much, it had a bit of a gourmet flavor which is good! Tip: I used a 12 inch deep skillet to make the recipe in, it accommodated the pasta and I just threw it in the oven since the skillet was oven safe. So there really wasn't a lot of dishes to clean up. This is a great, homemade tasting meal for a winter night that you can customize to your family's liking.

My new favorite way to eat pasta. This recipe is like grown up Mac and Cheese. Served with "Fresh Pea Soup," "Italian Peas," "Fried Broccoli," "Pumpkin Seed Beer Brittle," and "Hot Toddy."

This is very easy to put together. I added more garlic to it as I like garlic flavor. I would give 4 and a half but there is no star for that. Thank you for sharing.

This was good - great way to use up ham. I would, however, suggest a few alterations. I would omit the garlic (it did not seem to fit with the rest of the dish), I think it would be better with a mixture of cheeses, not just colby, and finally I would suggest adding more pasta and ham (5 oz pasta and 2 oz ham for 4 is not quite enough). I also added some frozen peas and corn when putting it all in the baking dish (no need to defrost, the cooked perfectly when added frozen). I forgot the parmesean topping, and it was fine without it but I will definitely add it next time. Over all it is a very nice, comforting dish that is pretty easy to put together.

I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I added more milk to the cheese sauce. It was so thick I couldn't mix it into the noodles & ham. Other then that it was awesome! My picky 4 yr old loved it!
