This is the best recipe! I made it exactly like Marcella suggested, and it came out perfect. My husband thought it was the best he ever had! As other people have suggested, I can see how adding a chopped jalapeno would be really good too. I'll try that sometime. It's just the perfect solution for a lot of left over ham!

Although I am not a fan of ham salad, my husband definitely is, so I made this especially for him. He nearly ate the entire amount all by himself. Therefore, this 5 star rating is from him! The only thing I did differently was to chop and add a few green olives because hubby is a big lover of them! This was a great alternate way to use up leftover ham.

This is a very good basic recipe that begs to be modified. I followed directions fairly closely but did make some changes. I omitted celery since we don't care for it and added about a cup of shredded cheese, a Tbsp each of dill relish and jalapeno relish, half a small can of sliced water chestnuts, half a red bell pepper, and used dijon mustard. Put it all in a food processor and processed the heck out of it. Results, a creamy, slightly crunchy, slightly spicy spread that turned out really tasty.

Delicious! I made it with slightly more than 1/2 cup of light mayo instead of the regular and left out the egg. Loved it and will make again!! Thank you!

Very good recipe! My husband made this using the food processor to do all of the chopping--first doing the ham--and then doing the celery, onion and egg together. We used this on toasted homemade rye bread with a little lettuce and it made awesome sandwiches!! Thanks for posting this recipe as it be a regular in our home!

Love it! Excellent use of leftover ham, I think next time I will add an extra egg. Very easy, I just dumped everything (except the wet ingredients) into my food processor and let it rip! Thank you!

Great! I didn't measure the ingredients, but I know I had more ham, so I used more mayo and mustard, and I used dill relish instead of sweet. The only negative thing about this, and it is just a nit-picky thing, is the color. It turned a strange shade of pink/gray. I've made ham salad before and not had that problem, so perhaps it was just the ham or something this time. Despite that little thing, I would make this again in a heartbeat. We had it on sandwiches, and all of us enjoyed it, especially our young children. Thanks so much!!

This was my first attempt at making ham salad, and it came out great! I never would have thought to add a hard boiled egg, but it works! I did the whole thing in my food processor, and it couldn't have been easier.

This was awesome! We had an 8 lb ham for Christmas and ham sandwiches were getting old LOL! We stuck to the ingredients in the recipe, but we doubled everything from the mayonnaise to the celery and egg! We kept it to 3 cups of ham and we chopped it up in several batches in the food processor. It's the egg that truly makes it and I was surprised it didn't need any salt or pepper to taste! What a great way to stretch your ham in these tough economic times! Thanks for the recipe Marcella, this is a keeper!

I left out the egg and added another tablespoon of pickle relish - as this is what my husband prefers. I served on Walnut wheat bread (Kirkland's) with romaine lettuce. I served these with ham and potato soup on thanksgiving and it stole the show.

This ham salad is very tasty. The only difference from the original recipe was no egg, and several dashes of liquid smoke, just because I was curious about what it would add to the recipe. It did enhance it a bit, however, this is a five star recipe as is. Thanks
