Ham Salad Spread
SUBMITTED BY:
Marcella Kulp
"My family has enjoyed this hearty ham salad spread for years. It came to be an unexpected leftover every time we had ham for a special dinner. Recently, I decided to measure the ingredients, write down the recipe and pass it on to my daughter and daughter-in-law. They encouraged me to share it with Reminisce readers. -Marcella Kulp, Quakertown, Pennsylvania"

Delish! My mom made this & followed the recipe exactly (as far as the very small amounts of relish, etc), but she did sub green onion for the onion. I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but I must say I will definitely be making it. Great on Ritz! My husband gobbled it up, so I wasn't able to eat as much as I wanted to!

Yummy. Trying to find a way to use up the leftover New Year's ham, I happened upon this recipe. I used more like ½ cup of mayo, maybe 3 tablespoons of dill relish (we prefer dill to sweet pickle relish), maybe 2 teaspoons of mustard, and I added 8 chopped up green olives. It was good immediately after mixing, but after sitting in the fridge for three or four hours, it was awesome. I don't have a meat grinder, so I just used one of those mini-choppers (like a tiny food processor) and put the ham in it in two batches, pulsing until finely chopped. Perfect! Thanks for sharing, Marcella!

This was wonderful Marcella! The egg addition is what helped to make this a bit different from the rest. Loved it so much that I even ate it for breakfast. Thanks so much!

My husband LOVES this recipe! It is so easy! I just toss the ham in the food processor and then add onion and egg. We go a little heavier on the sweet relish cause we love the sweeter taste. Thank you for sharing this !

I followed the recipe as publish but then I spread it on bread, added American Cheese and placed it in the oven (wrapped in foil) on 350 for about 20 minutes. Just until warm and there is a slight crust on the bread.

Wow! This was so easy and a lot less expensive than the deli counter at the supermarket. I didn't use all the mayo that the recipe called for. I like my salad a little dry - I used just enough to bind the ingredients together. I served it on sourdough bread and even the kids ate it!

I made this yesterday with some leftover ham. I followed the recipe except I used Grey Poupon's Harvest Coarse Ground Mustard. I just finished my sandwich I brought to work and it is delicious. Thanks so much for the recipe.

This was very very good.Your idea with the egg was great, and that little touch of mustard complimented the flavor also.I like a nice bowl of soup with this spread on toast. I did add a few jalapenos ....my wife said ..."it's a guy thing" ....she left them off ..She swears it was wonderful. Thank You for sharing this recipe with the world .

I love this recipe! It is super easy to make and tastes really great. I make as is with the exception of adding one more egg. I also sometimes use turkey/ham which is good too! Thanks for a super easy tasty recipe!!
