This is a fast, easy supper. I used peas and carrots for the vegetables and omitted the cheese

This is great comfort food! I don't use many prepared foods, so I used fresh potatoes. Because I was running late, I parboiled the sliced potatoes for 5 minutes before mixing with the other ingredients. If you do this, either don't use too much of the water they were cooked in, or use dry milk (no added water) in place of the milk called for. They're apt to be too soupy. (Ask me how I know this!) You may want to add a little salt if you use fresh potatoes. I'll give myself more leeway next time I make this and won't have to parboil them and I will still use less water, because they don't need to be rehydrated.

This was really quite good! I know it was good because my 9 year old son, who never eats any kind of casserole, gobbled this up! I followed the directions pretty accurately, but I cut down on the water by just a little bit, because I had a smaller box of scalloped potatoes than what was in the recipe. For those who thought it was too watery, you need to let it set for a few minutes and it will thicken up nicely.

This was pretty good, although I modified it a bit. I added broccoli (not frozen but not completely cooked)instead of green beans. Hubby said it was good and very filling. I'll make it again.

I thought this was a good concept recipe. I would definitely use a baking dish larger than one and a half quarts because mine was so full I could hardly stir it. Also, the sause was a little too runny. If I made it again I would add less liquid to it. I also think I might try it with chicken and broccoli instead of ham and green beans, just as a matter of preference. thanks for the recipe!

My husband went crazy over this comfort food!! I highly, highly recommend making the sour cream and onion scalloped potatoes with the ham! I added parmesan cheese to the dish because it seemed like it would go well with the sour cream mixture and I also added onion powder. I topped the potatoes with half of the cheese called for in the recipe and we used the other half to mix into it to help soak up some of the extra liquid that wasn't absorbed into the potatoes. Yum!!

This was really fast and easy. I did not put the frozen vegies in just a personal preference. I used two boxes of potatoes and baked it in a 9x13 inch pan to feed our family of 6. My four young kids all finished their plates and asked for seconds so that says something.

I substituted a can of Spam for the ham, and since it's a little less meat I added more green beans. Yummy and simple to make.

This was really good. I cooked an 18 pound ham and had lots of leftovers. I used sour cream and chive potatoes and omitted the beans. I will put them in the next time. I used your measurements, the ones on the package were a little less. This was sooooooooo easy. Thanks!
