Surely the last reviewer doesn't know the difference in his food groups! If he wanted dates, then he should be looking for fruit salads! This is HAM LOAF and that suggest nothing BUT meat! He has obviously never had any meat before of any kind, or he would know that this tastes great. I used this recipe to bake a Ham Loaf for the first time and I made it for a small group of people. I had compliments like, "Not bad for a guy!" to "Great ham loaf! Where did you get the recipe?" I loved it too. It tasted much like my mother's receipe. The only things I would add to this recipe are: 1) Bake it in a 5 X 9 bread loaf pan, 2) Add some cloves on the top during cooking and remove them afterwards (adds flavor) and 3) for more flavor, add a generous amount of your favorite ketchup on top and spread it evenly before baking. All in all, I give this a 5-star rating, because it WAS the best!

This wasn't too good. There was simply too much meat, jeez, my ex wife couldn't handle that much meat. Maybe if it had dates or almonds in it, to add a hint of flavor other than meat, it was like having a huge meat stick crammed down my throat. I do love the meats though.
