We use chicken broth instead of the 3 cups water, and it gives the vegetables an incredible flavor. We also use 2c cheddar and 1c mozzarella to break down the strong cheddar taste. Definitely a 5 star!!

This was pretty good, DH didn't love it but said it was ok. I followed the recipe closely. I used everything it called for plus a couple of additions: I used whole wheat flour for the flour like I usually do, and I added corn and garlic as other reviews had commented on. I think I expected it to be more flavorful but it could have used a boost for flavor.

A total hit with my hubby and kids. I left out carrots since the family dislikes them cooked. I added a package of Lipton Onion Soup Mix after adding the cheese before I put everything else in and it gave a great flavor. I also added a jalapeño for some extra spice. I will be making this one again for sure;)

This was a huge success. My kids went back for thirds and there was only enough left for my lunch the next day. I did make a few additions as suggested by others. I added a can of creamed corn, two cloves of garlic and one jalapeno pepper. I will be making this again already a week later by request from my entire family. Thank you so much for sharing!

YEOWZAH! this is good! I took the advice of a few other posters and added garlic and a few dashes of hot sauce. I also did half cheddar and half mozzarella cheese (because thats what I had in the house lol). I made it and then let it sit on low for 2 hours just stirring it occassionally. soooooooo yummy! and my hubby really likes the spice so thanks to all for that suggestion :)

We just came home from a cold night of Christmas caroling to a double batch of this great soup! It is sooo good everyone had seconds, and it's very easy to make. 5 stars!

Only three stars as is, added chicken broth as others suggested along with salt, pepper. Only used half of the cheese suggested. With the modifications it was good.

This was delicious, but super super thick. I added 1/2 cup more milk, but it was still too thick for my liking. I used a bag of frozen onion, celery and carrots, but fresh would be so much better. I didnt' measure my diced peeled potatoes, I used 6 russett potatoes that were all medium sized. I thought it was weird to drain the veggies/potatoes after cooking but I see why you do that after making it. This was great except for being too thick, next time I would use less flour.

Very good, but was in need of a little extra. We added Cholula to our bowls after making the first batch. When I made the second, I added Frank's Hot Sauce. My four year old that dislikes spicy food didn't even notice. With that and a little salt, this would have received a 5.

I tried this recipe for the first time last night-Fabulous! My mother has been making a recipe very similar to this one for years, but recipes is tough competition! Highly recommend, although I did add more cheese as that is my family's taste.
