Original Recipe Yield 3 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup gum drops, no licorice ones
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  2. Sift dry ingredients and set aside
  3. Beat eggs in large bowl until foamy.
  4. Beat in sugar gradually.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Blend in sifted dry ingredients.
  7. Mix in gumdrops and walnuts.
  8. Pour into pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into bars while still warm.
