it started out kind of bland. We didn't have Cayenne, so we added some Frank's Red Hot sauce and a little extra lime juice and salt.. came out very good. Also added a bit of sour cream (to make it creamier), but I think it made it more bland.

Great starter recipe for one to tweak to their own taste - Guacamole is just a salsa made from avodcado, so you can make it any way you like. The lime juice will slow the oxidation of the avocado, but you can also use lemon juice. Add some jalapenos for kick - its good without garlic too (and I'm a garlic lover).

Very good and very easy... I've used this recipe several times. I like to cube one of the avocados and fold it in after I've thoroughly mixed all the other ingredients, the result is both smooth and chunky. Sometimes, I'll sautee the onion first so it's not so bitey... makes the dish that much more special.

Yummy! Better than the one at our Mexican resturant. I did have to add a little more salt. It was even better the next day. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent recipe -- we make this one all the time and use it as a sauce on Mexican dishes. Great with the handmade tortilla recipe.

Made and ate guacamole for the first time with this recipe. I always thought it looked funny before! I made it to put on top of Carne Asada. It might be funny looking, but it sure tastes good. I did use only 2 avacados (all I had) and skipped the cilantro (can't stand it). It was very good on the carne and even wonderful the next day with chips. Make this recipe!

Extreme yum. I used four avocados, a little extra onion and tomato, and added one serrano chile for extra kick.

I took this to the Fiesta Party last night. Everybody remarked it was the best guacamole they ever had. It was really tasty and easy to upscale to feed 30 party goers. Really needs 6 stars!

This was fabulous! I used the cayenne but left out the cilantro and it was perfect for a snack with tortilla chips.

awwww...I was disappointed in this recipe. I LOVE avocado but, the strong lime juice & salt overpowered the avocado. I would probably try it again cuz over 1,000 reviewers can't be wrong!! However, next time less lime juice & way less salt!

Too bland. We added cayenne pepper, chili powder, red pepper flakes, more lime juice, and some seasoned salt and it still tasted like I was eating an avocado.

Fantastic recipe - I didn't put in onions (my mom and I both have an intolerance), but added in more garlic and cilantro. It was a big hit!
