Ground Venison Burgers
SUBMITTED BY:
Jerry Honeyager
"Even folks who aren't fans of venison will enjoy these zippy burgers, deliciously topped with pepper cheese and a cool lime-mustard mayonnaise. 'My son, who's an avid hunter, gave me this super recipe,' says Jerry Honeyager of North Prairie, Wisconsin."

If I could give this 10 stars.. I would. For the FIRST time in my history with this website I did not change ANYTHING about this recipe. Seriously.. follow it exactly and you will be pleased. This was my first time cooking with venison and what a hit! The mayo sauce is wonderful (I used fat free mayo and it still tasted amazing). We grilled the burgers until there was no pink and they were still very juicy. WOW! I will always cook venison with the green onions and jalapenos.. what a touch. If you are having doubt.. just make this you will be amazed!

This is our FAVORITE burger recipe, ever! It's great with ground turkey and lean beef too. We add a dash of Vanilla (or use vanilla yogurt)and It gives a PHENOMENAL taste with the lime! and sometimes an egg since they tend to fall apart, we serve with toasted wheat buns, Oh yum yum!!!

One of the best burgers I've ever had, I used ground bison instead, I also used whole wheat buns which added a little extra flavor. Will make again.

This was a great recipe! I am always looking for ways to take away the gamey taste of venison and this did it!! Burgers are great with or without the sauce and with regular cheese as well!

These were not gamey. We cooked for 8 to 9 minutes on the George Forman grill for 1/2" thick patties. The sauce really is delicious.

WOW, fantastic burgers! My wife even commented that these were probably one of the best burgers she ever had. Followed this recipe with no changes and it was great. This is the first venison burger I have ever made that didnt fall apart in the pan, and didnt dry out.
