This is a great quick dinner. Best with fresh okra, but frozen will do. My kids enjoyed it too. The only change for me was less salt and brown rice.

Delicious. I have a garden full of okra and green peppers and this used up a good portion of both. I gave it a 4 star b/c I thought the ground chicken was rather odd. We used chopped up chicken breast and are planning on making again with shrimp. This isn't a spicy gumbo, but a traditional gumbo isn't meant to be hot - rather a subtle blend of flavor. Tabasco is traditionally served on the side for those who prefer a little more 'fire'.

we enjoyed this meal, I used celery flakes and no okra, used more hot sauce, creole, and a little mild curry bc I like it, served over brown rice with corn, very filling

Unfortunately, this recipe as it is is very bland. Please don't make this expecting authentic New Orleans results because you will be disappointed. Needs more kick. The tsp of cajun seasonings must get absorbed up in the rice and/or diluted in the chicken broth. Whatever, the case I won't be making this one again.

This recipe was so tasty, healthy and fast and easy to prepare. Perfect for a quick winter weeknight meal. My fiance and I really enjoyed this and I will definitely be making it again. I used brown rice and the only changes I made were a little extra hot sauce and red pepper flakes. Thanks for posting this wonderful recipe!

Good, quick recipe. I didn't have everything on hand, so substituted carrots and zuccini for the celery and okra. Used some fresh tomatoes and a bit of tomato paste with water in place of the canned tomatoes. You could make many subtile adjustments and have a slightly different meal each time. Will save to my reipe box for sure! Thanks for posting.

Very easy and tastes amazing. I would add a little more chicken broth , mine was a little dry. I usually cook things from a box, fast and easy. This recipe is just that!

Not a great hit, I'm afraid. Probably more to do with our tastebuds than the recipe itself, but we found it terribly bland - and that's even after I added chorizo to try and spice it up somewhat.

THIS WAS PRETTY GOOD! I HAD NEVER MADE GUMBO BEFORE. I USED CHICKEN TENDERLOINS INSTEAD OF GROUND CHICKEN AND FROZEN SLICED OKRA INSTEAD OF FRESH. WILL MAKE AGAIN!
