This is a very hearty soup! I added more veggies and spices like other members recommended, especially because I didn't have any onion soup mix. I also used a large can of diced tomatoes instead of tomato soup.

This was great! My husband said he'd eat again which is very rare. Maybe the potatoes I had were larger but I used 5 and it was still a little too much potato for me. I also added 1/2 tsp extra Italian seasoning, I used about half the packet of onion soup, and a little more pepper. Will for sure make again!

I made a stew like this when I was feeding 8 kids and 3 adults. I did not use tomatoes but made it as if I was making regular beef stew and add 2 or more bullion cubes for flavor. also did what I called wash day stew used all leftovers from frig, beef, chicken, pork what ever vegetables sometimes had to add a can or 2 to make enough served with biscuits or corn bread every one loved it. If not thick enough added instant potatoes or rice sometimes barley

Really tasty soup! The consistency of mine was not "stew" more like chunky soup. After ladling in bowl, sprinkled top with shredded Mozzarella cheese. Yummy! Hubby loved it!

Maybe my crock pot is super awsome, I cooked it on high and it turned to mashed potato slop. But very tasty, cooking it on low next time.

VERY good! I will use this recipe again. I added some beef stew seasoning along with the taco seasoning. My family really enjoyed it!

I was going to make a stew out of this recipe but at the last minute I changed my mind and decided to make a soup. Instead of celery I used corn and for the soup part a can of beef broth. My son really loved it as did I but I found a little bland so next time I will use a more spices. It made so much I was able to freeze some which makes for a great meal on cold Winter day.

This stew makes an inexpensive and hearty meal, and it's especially nice in the wintertime. It's easy to make and not bad in fat or calories if made with lean ground beef. I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites, but I'm sure I'll make it again.

Just okay. I made some of the changes (cut back potatoes, added red wine, tomatoes instead of tomato soup, etc.) and it just doesn't really excite me. My daughter likes it alright, though.

I used a whole envelope of onion soup mix and about 40 oz of potatoes. It turned out very well and I will make it again.

I made this recipe based on the reviews I read, but my family did not care for it at all. It was lacking flavor even though I tried to adjust it. a traditional stew would have been much better.

A rather good and easy to make stew. Hearty and filling. I did make some changes, though. I needed to use up some leftover Vodka Pasta Sauce, so I used that instead of the tomato soup. I added the whole pack of onion soup mix, plus a couple beef bouillon cubes to up the beefy taste. I also added a can of diced tomatoes with italian seasonings - basil oregano and olive oil, I think. I kept the potatoes and carrots the same, but did cut the baby carrots in half to make it easier for my little ones to eat. Served it with the Baked Corn recipe from this website, too. It was great comfort food.

We omitted the following: 2 potatoes, 1c water, onion soup mix & salt. We added the following: 1c red wine, 3T low sodium beef broth, 1 extra garlic clove, 2tsps. (extra) Italian seasoning, extra garlic powder & black pepper & lots of additional fresh vegetables (sliced mushrooms, chopped onion, & bell pepper). This recipe is easy, healthy & really, really tasty. (It’s even better the next day!!!)

I love this recipe the way I make it! I don't care for canned tomato soup, so I replaced it and the pureed tomato with two cans of diced tomato and some vegatable broth (I buy "better than buillion", which comes as a paste). I also upped the seasonings a bit.

It was easy and inexpensive as promised. I reduced the potatoes to five and used chopped carrots instead of baby, but otherwise I followed the recipe as written. Unfortunately, something about the combination of spices and tomato products made the sauce end up tasting like Chefboyardee to both of us. Not a bad recipe, but not one I'll make again.

This was an easy slow-cooker. It was the first slow-cooker recipe I'd done. It could use more ground beef, less potatoe, and less tomato-taste. I will definitely cook it again.

This was GOOD! I added a bit more water, and a lot more Italian seasoning- specifically oregano, basil, and garlic powder. It was a very fragant, hearty stew and I will make this again. :)
