This recipe is a good foundation, I never would've thought of using bicuit mix. Seemed like it might be a bit bland so I added onion, 1 jalapeño, some green bell pepper, a tomato, and a chipotle boillion cube to the meat.

Great recipe.. BUT, I'm surprised no one has thought to add a little horseradish to this..you won't know what the ingredient is,, but, it sure "kicks up" flavor in the beef..I was given a recipe for meat loaf a long time ago, & still use the ingredients in it & also burgers on the grill..add 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp horseradish, approx. 1/4 cup grated carrot. dried onion soup mix before you cook the meat.. you'll never go back to old recipes again..

After reading the reviews I added 3 cloves of garlic, about 1/2 cup of onions, and parsley flakes. Tasted great. It was so much like a cheese burger pie I had some of it with ketchup. Add the spices you like to personalize the recipe.

I was very disappointed in this recipe. I wanted something quick and with what I had on hand. It was very bland, almost tasteless, and I question the 1 1/2 cups of milk to the 3/4 cup of biscuit mix . It was like water. When I poured it over the mixture it sunk to the bottom and the baking time went from 35 min to over an hour. I would not try this again, I'm back to regular old Shepard's Pie.

yum. I tried to improvise bc I had some ground beef and needed a recipe fast-- I didn't have enough shredded cheese,so I sliced up some of my block of monterey Jack (but my nephew said that's what ruined it.) Otherwise it was really delicious and I'll make it again (planned in advance)~! TYVM for this simple and delicious recipe :)))

This is like the recipe on the back of the Bisquick box called Impossible Cheeseburger Pie. Try topping it with things you would top your cheeseburger with. I like to use ketchup, mustard, jalepenos, bacon, etc.
