Ground Beef Marsala Sauce

"I made this recipe up when I was out of chicken, and it came out pretty good! I enjoy serving it over tortellini."

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup dry Marsala wine
  • 1/2 cup dry sherry
  • 1/2 cup water

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook the ground beef with the garlic and mushrooms in a large skillet over high heat until no pink remains, about 10 minutes; do not drain. Add the flour and continue to cook for five minutes.
  2. Pour in the Marsala wine, sherry, and water. Stir and bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer covered for 10 minutes. Serve over the pasta of your choice.

I found this to be rather bland. I served it with white rice; perhaps that didn't help. MORE
