I tried this recipe with apples instead of bananas (since I didn't have any). It turned out very yummy although I might not use quite as much PB next time. Thanks for the fun breakfast idea!

I made this for my kids, ages 7 & 8, for breakfast this AM. They loved it! We followed the recipe as written, other than buttering the bread instead of using a spray. This will be a nice breakfast when it is cold!

If you have never tried this, it is a must! Do take the advice many others have offered and use ripe bananas. Much tastier and a little more nutritious than the old standby of pb & j. I use light margarine rather than pan spray...PERFECT!

I eat this sandwich just about everyday for lunch. Sometimes I mix a little chocolate peanut butter and regular peanut butter together and it is so yummy!!! I also drizzle a little honey over my bananas. I usually stick it in the sandwich maker and BAM! I have an excellent lunch. Nothing beats melted peanut butter!

Someone introduced me to this a few years ago. I don't make them often, but everytime I do, they are DELISH! Really, they're so good they should probably be illegal!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! We put honey on ours before we grilled and didn't bother with syrup. They were amazing!

I love this sandwich! I have made it at least 4 times the 1 thing that I would change is I add a teaspoon of honey to the peanut butter before I put it on the bread.

I made this recipe exactly as it called for and it was great! Next time I think I will try some chocolate chips sprinkled in. It seems like this would be a good thing to eat if you were sick...=) UPDATE: Try drizzling 1 tbso of honey onto this as well. It takes the flavor to another level. =)

used i cant believe its not butter spray, a little over 1/2 a banana. and added a few chocolate chips (got the idea from another sandwich on this site) you will need a tall glass of milk to wash this down, but its so good. i wish my mom would have known about this when i was growing up. :D

Got milk? You'll need a tall glass while eating this one. One whole banana is too much for my tastes. I used almost half. I also buttered the bread instead of using spray. This is much better than a regular PB and banana sandwich.

OMG! i had a sweet tooth last night and don't normally keep much for sweets in the house and i don't know WHAT made me think of looking up this recipe, but i'm so glad i did. it was DELICIOUS! I also lightly buttered the other side of the bread and sprinkled with a little cinnamon/sugar...toasted to golden brown and used a tiny bit of maple syrup on top. I cannot believe how good it was or that I had never tried one before. Don't knock it til you try it!!
