Grilled Italian Burgers

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons capers, drained
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons kalamata olives, pitted and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil grate.
  2. Combine the beef, capers, eggs, olives, garlic powder, oregano, feta cheese, and bread crumbs in a bowl. Divide and form the mixture into 4 patties.
  3. Cook burgers on preheated grill about 6 minutes, turning once, to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F (70 degrees C), or to desired doneness.

This was a really, really good recipe!! The only thing that I can say is that the meat falls apart on the grill if you turn it too much. My advice is to let it cook to a char or well done on the first side before turning it over. Also, it is a very rich flavor so have something nice to drink with it.
