I love grits, which is strange since I was raised in Wisconsin. My husband on the other hand hates them and he was raised in the south. He however loves these garlicky, cheesy grits. This is a great dish to serve with barbequed ribs or chicken

This is a tasty, treaty baby back ribs recipe, and it's real easy to prepare. Serve the remaining glaze with the ribs.

It's a great day when my Mom serves up this Southern specialty! Cooked grits are combined with seasonings, cheese, and eggs, then baked. The eggs are the secret to light fluffy grits that melt in your mouth! You may adjust or eliminate the hot sauce to suit your taste.

I first served this pasta dish with a tossed salad when friends dropped by and stayed for dinner, recalls Amy Burns of Charleston, Illinois. Since then, I've modified it to include some vegetables, so it's a complete meal by itself. My sons ask for it all the time. Frozen peas, corn, chopped broccoli and sliced zucchini can be used alone or in any combination that you like in place of the vegetable medley listed, she adds.

Cornmeal is transformed in the all-so-versatile polenta when it's boiled and then chilled. Parmesan cheese gives this polenta a nice, subtle cheese flavor.

Grits is a main ingredient for many Southern meals. I've had this recipe for years and never grow tired of it. It's especially good to serve on a lazy weekend, since leftover portions are very tasty served cold.

Victoria Newman of Antelope, California makes French bread fabulous when she spreads slices with this mouth-watering mixture. The creamy blend bubbles when broiled and offers plenty of garlic punch.
