Grilled BBQ Romaine Lettuce

"Brushed with an Asian-inspired marinade made with sesame oil and fresh ginger, these grilled halved heads of romaine lettuce are the perfect start to any barbecue."

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 3 small heads romaine lettuce, halved lengthwise

Directions

  1. In a blender or food processor mix soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, brown sugar, and ginger until thoroughly combined.
  2. Brush lettuce with marinade. Place romaine lettuce cut-sides down, in center of cooking grate. Grill 5 to 7 minutes, turning and brushing with marinade halfway through grilling time.
