Yum! I thought these were excellent...a great way to get your vegetables in. I did what another user suggested and crumbled bacon on top and it was great! Will make again!

Love this recipe as is, have made it often, but as a variation I add a little minced fresh garlic and onions to the butter, sugar, salt, pepper & basil.

A great idea to perk up ordinary green beans, but I found the addition of sugar to be distracting-- too sweet even with only a tablespoon. Mind you my husband and children had no complaints! Will definitely try again without the sugar.

Good recipe. I halved the butter and it was plenty. Next time I will use less sugar as it was a bit too sweet for my taste.

This was very good! A neighbor went on vacation and he told me to help myself to his garden! He had a lot of green beans and cherry tomatoes so I found this recipe on the ingredient search. I omitted the garlic salt and sautéed 2 cloves of garlic and a small shallot (like another reviewer) in the butter and then added the tomatoes. I then added salt, pepper and basil and then I placed the green beans in the skillet so they could get a little of the spices cooked in them. Thanks for a great recipe!

These were good, but not the best green bean recipe I've had.

This was good. Needs some salt. I did not boil the beans, they were fresh from the garden so I just sauteed them in the butter with the other ingreds. Used frsh garlic, not garlic salt and added more fresh basil than called for, probably about 3 Tbs. Will make again but less butter.

This is a wonderful recipe for those of us who have an abundance of green beans and cherry tomatoes from our gardens. My family loved it. I omitted the garlic salt and sautéed 2 cloves of garlic and a small shallot in the butter before adding the tomatoes, then added a pinch of salt. I also decreased the sugar to 1 teaspoon since my tomatoes were very sweet on their own. When I served them I grated a little fresh Parmesan cheese over the dish. I know I'll be making this recipe again!

I didn't like this as much as i thought i would. I did use frozen green beans rather than fresh. Perhaps that made the difference. To me, there was something off about the flavor. a little too sweet. Maybe some acid from lemon or vinegar would have helped.

Hickory Springs is a Farmers' Market and Bistro. This recipe was tried because of an abundance of cherry tomatoes. I give out samples to my lunch time customers and everyone including me loved it. Now I serve it as a side dish. Thanks

I used grape tomatoes from our garden, so I added less sugar. And I took a previous reviewer's recommendation, adding real chopped garlic and salt rather than garlic salt. This would be a good dish even without the tomatoes!

Awesome combination!!! I of course used FRESH green beans from our garden - and it was heavinly! I actually couldn't stop eating all of the tomatoes while they were cooking in the butter sauce! I would not cook tomatoes very long at all - I prefer them slightly firm! Thanks for the recipe!! A new way to fix a southern favorite!

This recipe is great! I steamed fresh green beans. Once the sauce with the tomatoes was ready, I put the beans in the pan, and tossed them for a few minutes. I served them to friends, and I was asked for the recipe. Thanks!

I really enjoyed this recipe! I used frozen green beans, because that's what I had, and it was still quite tasty. The basil and tomato combination was very good; I used frozen basil from last year's garden -- much better than dried. Next time, I will probably add a bit more salt, but that was not a major problem.
