Maybe it's because I'm sensitive to too much oregano - I thought it was overpowering here. Just okay; there are so many green bean dishes out there I don't know that I'd make this again.

This sounded sooooo good, but then I was disappointed in how boring it came out. Definately need to increase the spices, and salt the tomatoes before adding them in to better their flavor.

I loved it! I always thought of green bean as something you either served plain, or in the casserole with mushroom soup & onions on top. I was cooking for me and my daughter (who hates green beans), and so I decided to mix them with things she likes... It turned out great! Basically I followed the recipe. The only thing I did differently was to use a combination of green and wax beans (they were so fresh & yummy looking @ the farmer's market) and a few baby button mushrooms. I loved the combination of this recipe... She actually ate them... She said she still wasn't thrilled with green beans, but would eat them again it I made them this way. That's a real plus! By the way, she's 28, not 8 years old... This is a real keeper in MY book.

Have eaten this in my favorite Italian restaurant before so when I saw this recipe, I decided to give it a try. Used fresh green beans, oregano and tomatoes from my garden the first time I made it, making sure to crush a few cloves of garlic while it simmered. Yes, salt is a must to balance the flavors! Second time I made it, I tried using canned stewed tomatoes instead of fresh and it was every bit as delicious! Also sauteed a half pound of shrimp to add at the end and served over a bed of rice! Mmmm. Even my veggie hating husband loved it! Very worth the effort in kitchen!

Another tasty way to utilize a bounty of fresh garden herbs and veggies. I did saute using fresh roasted garlic and added balsamic cream (reduction) at the end to, ever so slightly, glaze the green beans. Roasting the garlic lends a more subtle flavor which does not dominate and the balsamic cream has just enough tanginess to compliment the swetnesss of the fresh tomatoes. Thank you Amy for sharing.

Made this for dinner - very easy to make. Didn't have garlic or oregano...substituted garlic pepper, italian seasoning along with the basil...this was absolutely delicious. I also used a can of diced tomatoes with garlic, basil and oregano...my family loved them. I will definetely make again.

Maybe it's fresh herbs that make the difference between "just okay" and "wonderful" but these green beans were wonderful! Lucky to have the fresh oregano and basil in my garden, I added enough to taste, along with quartered cherry tomatoes. I cut the green beans into 1 inch pieces, and mixed them into the tomato-herb mixture. Not your ordinary side dish green beans, these are colorful, flavorful and downright delicious. Even hubs gave this recipe five stars, something he rarely does for vegetables.

These were just okay, they need more flavor. I took them to Thanksgiving, they were eaten, but not a big hit.

My mother makes this all the time so I thought I'd give it a try. Easy! I used a tin of tomatoes, 4 cloves freshly minced garlic and about 5 leaves of fresh basil from the garden. Needs the salt so don't leave it out.

Loved it! I used fresh basil and I used a little more garlic (2 large cloves) and I added green bell pepper and celery to the sauteed part with onions (I used 3 green onions and small part of a white one). This was really great. I'm looking forward to serving this to a friend.

This was a big hit served at a home bible study pot-luck. It ended up being served luke warm, but everyone still loved it! Added about 1/4c extra onion and deseeded the tomatoes. Will make it again!
