These are sinfully delicious. I did not wrap them but crumbled the bacon on top as one reader suggested. They we soo soo good. We had no leftovers at all! I will make these again for sure.

I cooked the green beans in the sauce with the onions instead of pouring it over after and used honey instead of sugar. They were delicious. I made these for dinner and my four year old actually ate green beans without a fight. In my book that makes them amazing!

Terrific! My hubby is burnt out on green beans, but he really liked these! I only had cut frozen beans, so I just used all of the ingredients in a saute pan. I am looking forward to making them when I can make them into bundles as the recipe calls for. Thank you for the recipe, Virginia! Now I can eat green beans for dinner again without making a separate side dish for hubby!

We LOVE these, if you want to have the same flavor but easier we did all the same steps except wrapping them. Once they were cooked crisp we put them in a pan with some cooked bacon chunks and put it in the oven to finish cooking, then poured the sauce on top. Just as good but faster and made a bigger batch.

If you make the recipe the way it is, you'll end up with hard beans and limp bacon. You could compensate for that by mostly cooking the bacon in a frying pan before wrapping the beans, and sauteing the beans with the onions, but I didn't really like the taste of these.

This has become one of my favorite recipes. I haven't tried wrapping them in the bacon or baking them, as I usually only cook for myself and my husband and it seems like too much extra time. Instead, I cook the bacon, saute onion and garlic with sugar, salt and vinegar in the bacon drippings. I then break up the bacon, and place blanched green beans and the bacon in the skillet and saute it until crisp. It makes a delicious side dish, my hubby absolutely loves it.

Would not change anything about these, perfect, I tied the bacon around the bundles as I saw in one of the photos, really nice presentation.
