I loved this. Was looking for something different to do with ground beef. Followed the recipe exactly, except I used whole wheat pasta. Everyone loved it, even my 8 year old. WONDERFUL!!!

Tasty comfort food. Not the healthiest with all the butter and egg which is the reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4, but a nice winter meal. I added about 1/2 cup of finely diced carrot to the meat/onion mixture and also sprinkled some chopped fresh spinach leaves before the final sauce layer. The carrot and spinach added some color and extra nutrition and did not change the taste at all. Final note, I found some of the directions a little confusing but worked it out. Good luck.

My husband liked this recipe, I thought it would be a little more flavorful. Maybe add more sauce to it? I'm not sure.

It was...moderately good. The macaroni had a distinctly greasy taste to it, and any actual taste it had wasn't too strong. I did halve the recipe since only three people would be eating it, but that should have kept the proportions right for all the flavors to still come through.

Yummy, I made this tonight and it was delicious. The kids hated the smell though, lol - must have been the nutmeg(?). I've never added nutmeg and cinnamon to hamburger before...but it was a delightful mixture of flavors and yummy. Everyone ate it up! The sauce gets crusty on top but expect it to be gooey underneath, that surprised me as I thought it would be more pastry or cake like...but it was cheesier...yummy.

Very good taste and nice and big for a family dinner or gathering. You can also use a 9 x 13 glass dish in place of the 3 quart casserole.
