Don't be dismayed by all the effort--this is one dish that is TOTALLY worth it! Besides, with the gargantuan number of servings this recipe makes, you'll easily get 3-4 meals out of it if you're making it for 4 people.

I did not like this at all. Too many steps, too many pans and not enough flavor. I like the concept and can totally redo this to make it easier and more flavorful. Too much pasta and very bland.

Okay...this was pretty darn good...BUT I immediately thought it would taste a lil bland so I added extra spices (garlic, salt, pepper) and I wish I would've been MORE heavy handed with the spices. I also halved the cinnamon the recipe called for. My bf and I enjoyed this meal because it is different and a great cold night meal.

We did NOT like this at all. The flavors do not meld together well and makes it taste like it was a mistake.

This is basically a recipe for pastitsio, a traditional Greek pasta dish. It uses fewer ingredients; usually I include parsley and red wine, and tomato paste. It was pretty good, and this filled a 13x9 dish; plenty for dinner with leftovers for my family of 4. If you've never made it, serve alongside a Greek salad of cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, red onion, kalamata olives, feta cheese and an oil and vinegar dressing.

I loved this. Was looking for something different to do with ground beef. Followed the recipe exactly, except I used whole wheat pasta. Everyone loved it, even my 8 year old. WONDERFUL!!!

Tasty comfort food. Not the healthiest with all the butter and egg which is the reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4, but a nice winter meal. I added about 1/2 cup of finely diced carrot to the meat/onion mixture and also sprinkled some chopped fresh spinach leaves before the final sauce layer. The carrot and spinach added some color and extra nutrition and did not change the taste at all. Final note, I found some of the directions a little confusing but worked it out. Good luck.

My husband liked this recipe, I thought it would be a little more flavorful. Maybe add more sauce to it? I'm not sure.

It was...moderately good. The macaroni had a distinctly greasy taste to it, and any actual taste it had wasn't too strong. I did halve the recipe since only three people would be eating it, but that should have kept the proportions right for all the flavors to still come through.

Yummy, I made this tonight and it was delicious. The kids hated the smell though, lol - must have been the nutmeg(?). I've never added nutmeg and cinnamon to hamburger before...but it was a delightful mixture of flavors and yummy. Everyone ate it up! The sauce gets crusty on top but expect it to be gooey underneath, that surprised me as I thought it would be more pastry or cake like...but it was cheesier...yummy.
