Original Recipe Yield 2 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Add milk and flour sifted with baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon. Let set several hours or overnight.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a cookie sheet.
  3. Kneed on floured sheet with extra flour. Roll out into a thin sheet about 1/4 inch thick and cut into circles with a cookie cutter. Arrange cookies on a cookie sheet.
  4. Bake until lightly golden, about 10 minutes.
