This was a great recipe, but I found I had to simplify it further for my tastes. I left off the salt (I was already using V8 low sodium for the tomato juice), left off the butter, and left off the sugar. The tomato base seemed sweet enough to not need anything added. Great and simple recipe, and great for the fall!

My grandmother made this for me and she used joel bacon for flavor. Over the years I changed somethings by adding stewed tomato and sometimes corn. Yummy!
