Kielbasa is cooked on the stovetop with potatoes and onion. This is an old recipe from my grandmother. 'Good Polish-Slovak food!' She would always say. 'Eat more!'

This is the basic recipe my gram used to use to make her potato salad. It sounds odd, but the anise is really good in this dish.

This is a stuffing that my grandmother used to make every time we had turkey. It's the best in the world. She used to put some in the turkey and some cold in the fridge raw. It tastes good this way as well.

These sweet, fried pastries are filled with cinnamon, raisins, and a lot of the secret ingredient: potato. Potato cookies may freak people out, but this is a pretty standard recipe from Poland using up ingredients that would normally be found in every kitchen.

My Grandma used to make this chicken and it was my mom's favorite. It is very easy, quick, flexible, and delicious. You may add as many different veggies and any amount you want. The broth made from this is great to dip bread and butter; my brother loves to have it as soup. Yum!!!

Classic perogies with potato and onion filling. Although you have to make the dough from scratch, the filling is extremely EASY!
