This is a wonderful recipe as written. Orange zest has the essential oils that pack lots of orange flavor that make this recipe so great. Adding orange juice concentrate doesn't begin to compare to orange zest in flavor. If you try this as written and want more orange flavor-add more orange zest, not juice. This recipe is a favorite with all of my kids and is pretty easy to put together. Try smaller pans to keep rolls raising upwards instead of outwards (flat), and you will have very tender rolls.

I'm not especially thrilled with this recipe. My rolls needed 10 more min in the oven--too doughy, and they almost burned. 375 is just too high in my oven for this dough. I didn't think there was enough orange flavor in this, either--I added orange juice instead of milk to the dough and orange juice to the glaze, which was good. However, without it wouldn't have been enough for me. I made the amount of dough as stated in the recipe, but used half for this recipe and half in another orange roll recipe--Orange Breakfast Rolls. I liked those better than these!

Very tasty, but they took longer to rise than stated, and I was using a fresh jar of yeast and my oven was already on, so I know my kitchen was warm enough. Otherwise a great recipe. Topped with orange cream cheese frosting from this site.

Lovely way to use up those extra oranges. I added about a 1/4 c of orange marmalade to the bread to enhance the orange flavor even more.

I thought this was excellent. I wanted more orange flavor so I added orange juice into the frosting as well as 3 oz. of cream cheese. Yummy!

I clipped this recipe from a Taste of Home magazine five years ago and have been making it ever since. These rolls are delicious and have become my traditional Christmas gift for my neighbors. I tried to take them something else one year, and they all complained! One hint: Use the 11x7 pan the recipe calls for. It's the perfect size for the rolls to grow together as they raise. Larger pans (like 9X13) allow too much space between the rolls and then instead of staying soft, the sides get brown and crispy.
