This is so good. Personally, i stuck with the fried onions on top instead of the ritz crackers, but thats just my preference. Every thing else was PERFECT. This was a big hit at thanksgiving last year and i'm so excited to make it again this year.

I was so tired of the same old boring green bean casserole with mushy beans and was so excited when I came across this recipe. I have made this recipe so many times and my family loves it! I find it tastes better to use frozen whole cut green beans and I use French's french fried onions instead of crumbled crackers. mmmm and use extra cheese!

I have been making this for years now! Every year it is the first question I am asked at Thanksgiving.."Are you making the green beans??" Once you make these you will never want the "other" green beans again!

I was looking for something a little different for green bean casserole for our Canadian ThanksGiving and found this and made it exactly as the recipe called for EXCEPT subst Cheddar with Fontina since I can't eat cheddar and it was simply delicious~~~no leftovers to bring home

I absolutely love this recipe. Such a nice change from cream of mushroom soup types. The sour cream and onions give it a really great flavor. I make this for every holiday. I just add extra cheese on the top since we are big cheese lovers. Delicious!

Good but slightly bland. I will make again but maybe add some garlic salt or paprika, just needed a little something else. I did like it better than the usual cream of mushroom soup/french fried onion stuff though.

Well...I reviewed this back when I made it, but AR didn't save the review. (?) So anyway, we didn't like this. We didn't even finish it, I'm sad to say. The sour cream absolutely overpowered everything, and tasted strongly of sour cream and not much like anything else at all. I like green beans (husband doesn't); he likes sour cream (I don't); neither of us liked this. I was bothered by the sour cream, he was bothered by the fact the sour cream did NOT mask the green beans enough. For contrast: I do like the green bean casserole that comes on the side of the French's onion can (but he doesn't like that either.) So I don't know what to recommend to people--some people WILL like this a lot (and the ratings reflect that). But some people will absolutely refuse to finish their serving, but then I guess that's true of anything! Thanks for the recipe, I really couldn't find anything wrong with it, it just wasn't for us :)

The whole family loved this. Only suggestion is to ease up on the salt. This is replacing the traditional green been casserole in our family!

I think this dish is perfect AS-IS. I was so tired of the traditional french fried onions and cream of mushroom soup green bean casserole. This is such a wonderful alternative and so much better. It is a must have recipe in my family. Everyone loves it!

I made this for a family gathering recently, and they all loved it! I did make a few minor adjustments to the original recipe. I sauteed the onions and one finely chopped red bell pepper (mostly for some extra color) in the butter before adding the other ingredients. I also stirred some additional shredded cheese into the bean mixture before transferring it to the baking dish. I loved the added crunch that the cracker topping gave the dish. This one is definitely a keeper. Thanks!
