I used ground veggie protein in substitution of meat and it was still tasty. A little too sweet, next time I might reduce the sugar a bit. But it was very easy and very palatable. My 3-year-old loved it!

Was very good in a Shepherds pie. All 6 of us did like it and enjoyed the meal. Was a nice change. Will make again but isn't a must have for us.

I added more veggies and used ground turkey for a more healthier version. I have to say this recipe is great just the way it is. My step-mom would always make something like this, because it was so quick and easy. It never got to simmer very long because it was so good. In my version I added 3 different types of bell peppers and cooked them a little with the ground turkey before adding anything else, so the turkey would pick up the flavor. Then I added corn, mixed veggies, and some peas. I changed the onion to green onion, I cooked it with no lid so more of the water would evaporate and did not add any sugar. VERY TASTY!

This was wonderful as a base for Shepard's pie! We followed the recipe pretty much to a "T" and then added mashed potatoes and shredded cheese on top and baked it at 350 until the cheese was melted! Delish :)

This recipe had a very nice flavor...the only thing I didn't care for was...the corn!!! Of course, I may have just bought the wrong brand of corn. I think this recipe would work great with mashed potatoes to make it into a Shepherd's Pie, or without the corn it would make delicious Sloppy Joes!!!
