Great! It tastes even better reheated. I wanted to have less saturated fat so used turkey bacon with olive oil.

This was the first time making corn chowder and this recipe is the best! I took the suggestions of using chicken broth instead of water and mixed cream corn with fresh corn. Delicious!!!!

Awesome corn chowder! I made a couple changes, but it is so delicious! I substituted 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth for water and 2 cups evaporated milk for half-and half and added 2 tsp ground thyme....Fabulous! Thanks!

Yummy! My Grandma also made this. Instead of bacon, try frying a little old fashioned salt pork cubes to sprinkle on the top and thicken the soup with instant mashed potatoes.

Really easy & tasty for a quick warm dinner. The only things I changed the second time aking this was to use chicken broth instead of water, since it wasnt very thick I thickened it (using a tablespoon cornstarch). I also added thyme, and celery flakes as well as a cup of frozen sweet corn. Will definately make again!

I made this recipe for my husband and we both loved it. It wasn't quite as thick as I had imagined but it still had great flavor. I also used chicken broth instead of water and I used diced ham in place of the bacon, but added some olive oil when initially cooking the onions and potatoes. We'll definitely try it again!

This was great!! I've never made corn chowder before and I'm so glad I picked such a good recipe. I followed the ingredients but changed up how I cooked it. First I boiled the potatoes and onion in chicken broth (used rather than water). Once they cooked for about 10 minutes, I added in the bacon, 1 can of creamed corn, and the 1/2 & 1/2 with 2 tbsp. of floour whisked in. Heated through and topped with cheese! Wonderful!

I actually added a lot more salt than called for, and added some garlic salt, more pepper, and put a dash of hot sauce in it for a kick and it turned out pretty good, i didnt use half and half, i used 2% milk and it turned out fabulous, very filling!

Yummy...go, grandma! This is pure comfort food. I followed the recipe almost exactly. I did whisk 2 tablespoons of flour into the half and half before I added it to the chowder as I like it a bit thicker and I didn't heat it first, just mixed it in and let it heat to almost boiling. I also followed other reviewers suggestions to use chicken broth instead of water. This is a keeper and will use again and again!

I used a can of creamed corn and a cup of frozen corn. Substituted a can of low sodium chicken broth for water. For color, I added some chopped roasted red bell pepper. Very easy recipe.

My family was not thrilled to be having corn chowder for dinner but once they tasted this one, they were hooked. No leftovers! The only thing I changed about the recipe was a suggestion another reviewer made: to use chicken broth in place of the water. It was a huge hit and I'll definitely be making this one again!

Wow! This soup was so good. My husband is a big fan of corn chowder, as he orders it every time we go eat out. He said that this was the best he had ever had, and that this recipe was a keeper. I only made a few small adjustments. While cooking I left a bit more bacon grease in, and I also added chiken bouillon to the 2 cups of water. To top it off I sprinkled shredded chedder cheese on the top and let it melt a little before serving. I will not be looking for another corn chowder recipe, this is the best.
