Grandma's Brown Sugar Drop Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  2. Cream together shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs and mix well.
  3. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Stir into mixture. Add flour, salt and cinnamon. Mix well.
  4. Drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet. Bake 10 - 12 minutes.
