Outstanding!! I made this bread for the first time today and I received rave reviews from my husband and 3 year old daughter! And believe me, they are two very picky eaters! I used the rapid yeast because I am so impatient, rushed the process and in doing so, it still baked up light and perfect. I began the sponging process but couldn't wait that long, so I decided against it and added all of the flour to it after it sat for only about ten minutes. I basically rushed the entire process and it still came out wonderful. Excellent recipe, will use for years to come!!

We love this bread and I have used it as a base for many different variations, both sweat and savory. It is very versatile and very forgiving.

Super easy, tasty bread. I added flax meal to make it higher in fiber. Than made it into dinner rolls.

Excellent recipe. Found the bread to have almost perfect texture; crusty exterior and soft within. I may reduce the sugar a little next time, though that's purely personal taste.

EXCELLENT all around sandwich bread! This is my second attempt at making bread with my new mixer and I am so pleased with how this turned out! The inside is tender and moist while the crust is absolutely perfect! I can honestly say this is the best all around bread recipe I have ever used! I followed the recipe to a tee after down sizing it to 1/3 all with absolutely no problem what so ever.

This is a keeper! Finally found a recipe that I've been looking for.Nice and fuffy, not too heavy and you really can't go wrong with this recipe. I made a 1/3 of the recipe because my food processor can only take that much. Didn't really measure all the ingredients accurately, left it too prove for a little too long. The bread still turns out nice! My 19 month son who is normally a fussy eater loves it too! The only thing that I would play with is, mine taste a bit too 'yeasty' but as I said, I didn't measure my ingredients properly + left it to prove for too long, so maybe user error there! Thanks Grandma VanDoren

there isn't enough that can be said about how easy, and just how moist and fluffy this bread is. A Definite A+ Recommend!!

This easy recipe was okay but nothing special. I wanted a bread a little fluffier than my standard recipe and based on the reviews I expected this to be super fluffy which it was not. I guess I was expecting more based on all the rave reviews. Overall, not bad but not great.

This was the first time I have ever made bread from scratch and my husband loved it. I did add a little more sugar. And....I split into 3 loaves, baked two and made cinnamon rolls with the other. Absolutely delish! Next time I make this recipe I am going to try and make it a little more dense as the bread was a little too fluffy. Can't use it for sandwich bread or french toast. Great recipe!!

We have a really big family, so I "sextupled" the recipe--six times--and made 22 loaves. I wanted it to last a while. It's great!! We used half wheat flour, so the bread was a little denser, but it's still really good. Next time I might make it with a little less wheat, but I was surprised at how well it turned out since we made so much. thanks!!

This bread was excellent, made a double batch for a family gathering and all six loaves just seemed to vanish! It was a little bit sweet for my liking, but obviously everyone else liked it! I did replace half of the flour for whole wheat, and I was worried that it was going to be a little bit too heavy, but it was just right. Definitely going to be a staple in my recipe book!

Move over Amish white bread, this is my new favorite! This bread is awesome. The taste is great, and it isn't dense like the Amish bread. DH LOVES it! I used honey in place of the sugar and also all-purpose flour. It is a wonderful, soft, slightly sweet bread. Thank you, Grandma VanDoren!

it was fun to make, and I've never made bread before, and on one of the loafs I added cheese to the top of it while it was cooking, which added a nice little zest.

I have NEVER been able to make bread before. I guess I just don't have the touch. However, THIS bread worked perfectly. I had never made a sponge before. It rose wonderfully and baked up beautifully. The second time I made it I halved it. It tastes wonderful too! Thanks!

My family LOVED this bread. I make it at least 3 times a week. My husband raved about it and told all of our friends "It is the greatest bread in the world!" He made me take a loaf to a pot luck that we had and everybody was asking for the recipe later. I will always use this recipe. Too bad we can't give it more than 5 stars.
