Excellent! I used "Pie Crust IV" to make a 2 crust pie.

It was my first time making apple pie and this pie turned out AMAZING!!! My recommendation is to pour the sauce to the apples instead of over the crust, which could make it soggy. Use the "Butter Flaky Pie Crust" recipe!! I guarantee this won't last for long!

OK, I have made more apple pies than I can count in my life and I thought I had the ultimate recipe, but this one is better! I did toss the apples with about 2TB flour mixed with about 2 tsp. cinnamon, then filled my pie pan and poured the sugar mixture over the apples before I put on the top crust. That sugar mixture looked sort of like greasy pudding at that point and I was doubtful that this was going to work, but it all just blended beautifully with the apples during baking. I doubled the recipe to make a 10 inch pie and really heaped it full. I had maybe 1 cup of apples and a little sugar mix left over, but it made a very nice full, large pie. This goes to the top of my list!

This was ok, just make sure that you pour the mixture over while it is still fluid enough

This was a great apple pie! My kids and husband loved it. I made it for Thanksgiving and just poured it over my apples and then put a lattice crust on top and made a little butter sugar topping and it turned out wonderful! Great recipe!

This is so easy to make. I only used about 5 or 6 apples because they were huge. I also forgot the to use unsalted butter but it was still great.

Excellent and the most "pretty" pie I've ever made. To the 8 apples I added 1.5 tsp. of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg. Followed the rest of the directions exactly. Great recipe; a definite keeper!

Didn't care for this pie. I don't know if it was because I used all Granny Smiths, or because of the "soggy" top crust. Just didn't care for it.

Made this pie for Thanksgiving, it was my first time. Turned out perfect and delicious! I added cinnamon and I used the Pillsbury rolled crust that you find in the refridgerator section. I made the top a lattice top design and basted it with corn syrup and granulated sugar for a nice finish on the top. Great recipe!

My husband, not a fan of pumpkin pie, loves this pie -- and I have to say, it doesn't make me miss pumpkin. You'll definitely want to invest in an apple peeler and corer (@ $16 at Amazon), but with that and a pre-made (frozen) pie crust, the prep was about 20 minutes for me. I also don't do the lattice on top, I made a crumb topping (half cup each of flour & brown sugar, stirred together, then cut in 3T of unsalted butter). The apples mound HUGE in the crust, so pouring the sauce requires a very slow approach, but everything should fit and not run over when done. The cooked sauce gives it a sweet caramel-y flavor, and heating it up a day later and adding whipped cream is definitely the way to go.

I made 2 of these for Thanksgiving. One for my parents house and one for a friend's. They were a huge success and my first pie baking attempt. I am ready to bake another one. What a great dessert perfect for any occation.

My husband said this was BETTER than his grandmother's (and that says a lot). I used a tad less sugar, but that's just my preference. Other than that, I followed the recipe. Didn't add cinnamon or vanilla as others suggested. Next time I think I will though. REALLY good pie, so easy to make...you'll love it!

I made this recipe as directed with the addition of cinnamon; however I was not that impressed. The other reviewers ranted and raved about how delicious it was, but to me it was not that great.
