Amazing everytime. I usually use chocolate chips and then I make the Devonshire Cream recipe from this site to go with it. I am always getting requests for these!

I've made them multiple times, and am going to make some more today. Won't make any other comments - plenty of reviews already! Just wanted to add my FIVE STARS!

I made these for a baby shower tea party and they could not have been more perfect for the occasion! I can't believe I've never made these before, I love them! I omitted the raisins, and made 3 versions: chocolate chips, dried cranberry with vanilla extract, and orange juice. For each scone, I scooped about an ice cream scooper-size onto the cookie sheet instead of cutting (I prefer the random look, and the crispy edges that are achieved this way). Delicious and perfect with a cup of tea.

yummy yummy! I halved this recipe (yes, I just kind of split the 1 egg in half...) and put chocolate chips and vanilla in it. Super easy and tasty!

No need to search any longer for the perfect scone....THIS is it!!! Tip: They are huge, you may want to make smaller ones.

I made these for my son's intergeneration day at school. I used 1 cup of mini semi-sweet chips instead of the raisins and just dropped dollops of them on the baking pan instead of cutting them pie shaped. Excellent and easy.

Best I have ever had. Got this recipe from my friend carly. So good! Some tips she gave me where the following: *When you add the wet ingredients, you can add vanilla or any other extract (orange, lemon, etc.). I do a couple teaspoons of each flavor. Orange goes well with dried cranberries, which I stir in where it says to add raisins. Vanilla combines well with lemon, or just vanilla alone is yummy too. **When you have placed the scones on the baking sheet you can brush egg over the top of them to make the scones look more browned and “finished”. It’s just for looks, totally optional. ***If you add berries, I recommend frozen berries to keep from “smushyness”. Cut large berries before adding, and add when the recipe says to add raisins. Any dried fruit could work as an add-in (craisins are my personal fave). ****It says to cut in 12 pieces, but if you do these will be huge scones. I make 2 smaller rounds and cut about 8 wedges per round. You can also just make them square, but they are not as cute that way :)

First let me say I have never had a scone before, I've only seen them. ;) I LOVE these. I didn't make any changes, but I did separate into to batches and added raisins in one and milk choc chips in the other. I liked the raisins best but my kids, of course, liked the choc chips better. When adding the sour crm mx & egg into the flour it was VERY dry...so dry I thought I left something out. BUT, when I took it out of the bowl (after adding the raisins/choc chips to the mix) and kneaded it by hand it moistened up. I got more than 12 servings from mine. Oh, I also used half whole wheat flour and half white flour. My brother said they were BETTER than scones you buy at the store!! I will keep this recipe and make them again and again! THANK YOU!!

I used toffee bits instead of raisins. The kids really loved them! They are even good as snack the next day. Very easy to make, but they make a LOT! Next time, I'll use chocolate chips, and just make half a batch. Love them though. Thanks for the recipe!

I made cherry scones for a ladies tea, everyone said they were the best! I didn't have enough time to ice them, but I think that would have made them even better. I want to tweak the recipe some to see if I can make them savory :)

These are AWESOME! I followed the recipe as written, but added 2/3 bag of mini chocolate chips to the mix. I divided the dough into two rounds, yielding six perfect scones each. I also brushed the tops of the scones with heavy cream before baking, then made a chocolate drizzle with the remaining chips and 1 T. shortening, and drizzled the heck out of them when they had cooled a bit. I did end up baking for an additional 8 minutes, but these were TO DIE FOR...perfectly crispy outside, tender and delicate inside. Beautiful!

These are the best scones I've ever tasted!!! The possibilities are endless with this recipe. I divided in half and made one with raisins and the other with chocolate chips. Drizzled a powdered sugar glaze over both. Added cinnamon to the glaze for the raisin scone. Simply wonderful.

Mmmm. Yummy. Didn't add the raisins. Instead I sprinkled the tops w/ cinnamon & sugar prior to baking. I had to bake for 7 minutes longer than the recipe specified.

I love chocolate chip scones! I used to pay big bucks for them at a local bakery - now I make my own. I do add a little more sour cream to mine because I prefer my scones to be more moist.

These are phenomenal, and they don't go stale or dry immediately; they last for a few days, which is really nice.
